new arrowhead stadium seating chart - The National Football League blacked out the Chiefs’ last home regular season game of 2009 with Kansas City unable to sell out the game vs. the Cleveland Browns.
The Chiefs opened the 2010 season at home — a first since 2006 — and did so on the NFL’s biggest stage, Monday Night Football. Kansas City last played on MNF in 2005 and last hosted a Monday night game in 2004.
There were no attendance issues Monday night.

Fans then greeted darkness with enthusiastic cheers after the stadium lights were turned off during pregame.
Arrowhead Stadium began to fill up around 8:30 p.m. in anticipation of the 9:15 p.m. kickoff — the second of two Monday broadcasts on ESPN for the season’s opening week. It was the third game since Arrowhead underwent a $375-million renovation during the offseason, but the crowd clearly outdid the ones for the final two preseason games.

When players made their way onto the field for warmups, fans waved white towels given out at the gate, twirling them over their head and turning the normal sea of red into a blur of white cloth pinwheels.

In front of a 30-plus-yard long American flag, country music recording artist Billy Ray Cyrus sang the national anthem. He is best known for his early 90s hit “Achy Breaky Heart” and more recently, gained notoriety as a cast member for Disney’s successful “Hannah Montana” series of television shows, movies and music that star his daughter.
The scene set off a string of flashbulbs in the crowd before fireworks were set off in the background after a video montage narrated by actor and Overland Park, Kan., native Rob Riggle played on the stadium’s matching football-shaped video screens.

It marked the third time the two teams have played on Monday Night Football, the most recent a 29-23 overtime victory for the Chiefs at Arrowhead. Tamarick Vanover returned a punt 86 yards for the winning score
